  • On arrival, check in to the hotel in Jaisalmer.

Day 3:

Jaisalmer - Sam Sand Dunes

  • Following breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Sam Sand Dunes en route visiting places like the Jaisalmer Fort, Gadsisar Lake and Kuldhara.
  • Jaisalmer Fort rises like a magnificent mirage out of the sands of the Thar Desert. Built in yellow sandstone in the 12th century by Maharawal Jaisal, and added to by his successors, this imposing citadel stands on the peak of Trikuta Hill which raises above a height of 250 ft. Popularly known as the Golden Fort or Sonar Kila, it depicts an ideal fusion of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles.
  • The fort is a real sight with its 99 turrets during the night as it stands tall and proud displaying the magic of Rajasthani architecture.
  • Further, we proceed to Gadsisar Lake, which is located a kilometer away from the fort. It was constructed by the first ruler of the land, Raja Rawal Jaisal and later reconstructed by Maharawal Garsi in the year 1367 AD.
  • The people of the desert city are dependent on this tank for their water needs.
  • One can find temples, holy shrines and Chattris around the banks of this lake. The artistically carved entrance made of yellow sandstone offers a breathtaking view.
  • Also, visit Kuldhara an abandoned village which was deserted in one single night by all the villagers, because of the Salim Singh as the new prime minister who levied heavy taxes and oppression. He crossed his limits when his lusty eyes were set on a beautiful 15 year old girl in Kuldhara.
  • On arrival, check in to the camp in Sam Sand Dunes.

Day 4:

Sam Sand Dunes - Bikaner

  • After breakfast, proceed to Bikaner. It stands on a slightly raised ground and is circumscribed by a 7 km long embattled wall with five gates.
  • The magnificent forts and palaces, created with delicacy in reddish-pink sandstone, bear testimony to its rich historical and architectural legacy. Surging lanes, colourful bazaars with bright and cheerful folks make Bikaner an interesting experience to explore.

  • The fort complex consists of palaces, courtyards, gardens, pavilions and balconies that depict a composite architectural style which is influenced by the cultural differences of the different rulers over the centuries and also foreign inspirations.
  • Also, visit the Prachina Museum, nestled within the quiet corner of Junagarh Fort which displays traditional textiles, royal portraits, contemporary art, religious accessories, etc.
  • The museum was founded by the daughter of Late Maharaja Narendra Singhji of Bikaner, Siddhi Kumari with a vision to preserve rich cultural diversity of Bikaner and to showcase Bikaner's monolithic identity.
  • Later, visit the Camel Research Farm which is one of the important tourist places of Bikaner. The tourist visiting the canter can see the camel of different breeds and their behaviour.

Day 6:

Departure

  • Today after a heavy breakfast, check out from the hotel, visiting the Amer Fort and the City Palace.
  • Visit Amer Fort, also known as the Amber Fort. The construction of the fort was started by Raja Mansingh in the 16th century and was completed by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th century.
  • The palace here has been wonderfully built with an intelligent design, that has a four storied layout and each level has its own courtyard. It consists of the Diwan-e-aam, or 'Hall of Public Audience', the Diwan-e-Khas, or 'Hall of Private Audience', the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace.
  • Located inside the old city, City Palace is a spectacular synthesis of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, consisting of an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards.
  • The City Palace, also houses various structures such as 'Chandra Mahal', 'Mubarak Mahal', 'Diwan-I-Khas' and the 'Govind Dev Ji Temple' amongst other buildings. It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan.
  • The Chandra Mahal now houses a museum but the interesting part is that it is still a royal residence. It is a seven-storeyed building and each floor has been given a specific name.
  • Post sightseeing, bid farewell to your 'Rajasthan Desert Triangle' tour, as you are transferred to the airport / railway station in Jaipur, for your onward journey.
