Day 1:

Arrive Paro - Thimphu

  • The most spectacular mountain flights you will ever experience in a life time. Flying in from the heat of the plains of India one can witness from the left side of the aircrafts window a series of the world’s highest peaks.
  • Our tour guide will be at the airport to assist you.
  • Transfer to Thimphu.
  • When in Thimphu you got to prepare for the surprises, this unique capital has no traffic.
  • Check in to the hotel & relax for a while.
  • Afternoon visit Tashichho dzong (Outside view), National Memorial Chorten, Government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2:

Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Post breakfast get ready for Thimphu sightseeing.
  • Visit Takin Preserve  - A wildlife reserve area for Takin, the national animal of Bhutan.
  • Buddha Point -  One of the largest Buddha Statue in the world, at 169 feet (52 m) and contains 100,000 8-inch-tall and 25,000 12-inch-tall gilded bronze Buddhas, BBS Tower, Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum.
  • After lunch visit to Changlimithang Stadium & Archery ground.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu. 

Day 3:

Thimphu - Punakha Via Dochula Pass

  • Morning drive to low lands of Punakha valley touching Dochula pass 3,100 m and on the stop at Hongtsho village.
  • Stop at the immigration check point to stamp in your permit.
  • You will be driving through the first mountain pass in the western part of Bhutan. You will find the 108 Druk Wangyal chortens on the top of the pass where the ridges are draped in colourful prayer flags greet you.
  • If the weather is clear you will be able to see the highest peaks towards the north, Gangar Punsum among others is the highest unclimbed peak (24,000 ft) in the world. If you are lucky you could see red pandas, different species of birds, you can take some photo shot close to the natural lake.
  • Proceed down towards Punakha through Thinleygang village and upon reaching Lobesa turn left and enter Punakha valley.
  • The existing footpath to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple) passes through beautiful terraces of paddy filed. After crossing paddy field, You will come across a Lobesa Village with lots of traditional house.
  • Lobesa Village is situated in valley, surrounded by paddy fields on the way to important Buddhist Shrine “Chimi Lhakhang” in Punakha. 
  • You can very well interact with local people and here also, you can visit some village houses to understand about their life style and proceed towards Chimi Lhakhang (Temple).
  • Drive to Punakha.
  • Overnight at a Hotel in Punakha.

Day 4:

Excursion to Phobjikha Valley

  • After breakfast excursion to Gangtey & Phobjikha- [alt. 3000m] : The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan.
  • The surprise of finding such a wide, flat valley without any trees after the hard climb through dense forests is augmented by an impression of vast space.
  • On the valley floor lays the village of Phobjikha. This place is the winter home of black necked cranes that migrate from the arid plains in the north to pass winter in milder and lower climate.
  • Phobjikha,at an altitude of 2900 m, falls under the district of Wangduephodrang and lies on the periphery of the Black Mountain National Park.
  • Return at Punakha.
  • Overnight stay at Punakha/Wangdue. 

Day 5:

On to Paro

  • After breakfast, transfer to Paro & visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong which has a long and fascinating history.
  • Afternoon visit Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined fortress from where Bhutanese repelled several invasion by Tibetan armies.
  • While getting back stop at Tiger’s Nest View Point. Later visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom. Return at hotel.
  • Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 6:

Excursion to Chele La

  • Morning drive to Chele-la - The highest motorable point in Bhutan.
  • After driving through blue pine & rhododendron forest for 45 km, reach Chele-la pass ( 4200 meters).
  • From this point one can have a superb view of Mount-Jhumolhari & Jichu Drakey. This is a very good place to walk around for enjoying the view.
  • Later in the afternoon drive to Paro.
  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 7:

Day Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery / Taktsang Monastery

  • Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious site, located approximately 10 km north of Paro town at an altitude of 3.120 meters.
  • In order to arrive at the temple visitors must trek for around 2-3 hours through beautiful, shady pine forests.
  • No trip to Bhutan would be complete without a visit to this remarkable world heritage site.  
  • Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 8:

Departure from Paro

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
  • You will be dropped at the Paro Airport for your onward journey.
