Day 1:

Arrival in Mumbai-

  • Welcome to the city that never sleeps, the land of dreams, Bollywood and spicy-hot vada pavs.
  • On landing in Mumbai airport/railway station, you will be escorted to your hotel.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure.
  • We suggest that you head to South Mumbai, take a walk down the Queen's Necklace (Marine Drive) and onwards to the Girgaon Chowpaty for a true taste of Mumbai's street food - vada pavs, pav bhaji, bhelpuri, tangy chaats - the works!
  • Overnight stay in Mumbai.

Day 2:

Enjoy a city tour of Mumbai-

  • Post breakfast, explore Mumbai in a chauffeur-driven car.
  • Cruise through important sites like the Mahalakshmi and Siddhi Vinayak Temples, Worli (for the Nehru Science Centre and the Haji Ali Dargah), the Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Hotel, Bandra-Worli Sealink and Juhu Beach.
  • If you have an extra day, catch a ferry to Elephanta Islands, known for their ancient rock sculptures dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • The rest of the evening is at leisure to enjoy Mumbai's nightlife.

Day 3:

Mumbai to Harihareshwar-

(Drive Distance:250 km Time:8 hours)

  • Drive from the hotel in Mumbai to the hotel in Harihareshwar via Murud on the coastal highway.
  • Pick up your rental car from the hotel and head out of Mumbai early in the morning to beat the traffic.
  • Exit the city at Panvel and head to Alibagh, where you can make a pit stop at the beach. Hereon, the sea will be your companion nearly all the way to Murud.
  • You will pass the peaceful Kashid Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters.
  • The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, home to leopards, barking deer, Indian giant squirrels, pythons and birds like the crested serpent eagle, too is close by.
  • Your next stop is the Murud Janjira Fort, which is a short boat-ride away from the port-town of Murud.
  • Head further down the coast, get your car onto a ferry, which will drop you off at Dighi.
  • Your next stop could be Hotel Amar, known for its seafood, and then catch a ferry across the Savitri River.
  • Next, we suggest that you make a pit stop at the Fattegad Fort, rumored to be built under the rule of Shivaji Maharaja.
  • Continue your drive to the hotel in Harihareshwar.

Day 4:

Harihareshwar to Tarkarli-

(Drive Distance:350 km Time:10 hours)

  • Drive from the hotel in Harihareshwar to the hotel in Tarkarli.
  • Today's route snakes down the western-most part of Maharashtra, looking over the Arabian Sea.
  • The roads are slightly narrow and if you are here during the rains, slippery too.
  • The way is lined with forts -Jaigarh Fort, Bhagwati Fort, Vijaydurg Fort and Devgad Fort - and beaches that could rival anything that Goa has to offer.
  • The religiously-inclined have two major temples on the way - the Sapteshwar Mahadev Shiva temple and the Ganpatipule Temple.
  • Also, don't forget to enjoy the delectable Malvani seafood the region has to offer.
  • Check-in to your hotel in Tarkarli and unwind for the day.

Day 5:

Tarkali to Goa-

(Drive Distance:180 Kms Time:5 hours)

  • Drive from the hotel in Tarkarli to the hotel in Goa.
  • Like most of the roads until now, your route for the day is through narrow, single-lane beach roads.
  • The Vengurla Bandar, popular for the Devbagh Beach and the Mochemad Beach is the first major stop on your way to Goa.
  • Further south, you'll pass the popular Tiracol Fort Heritage Hotel, and it's from here that you can catch a ferry to Querim, your last ferry transfer en route to Goa.
  • Stop next at the Chapora Fort, the one from the movie Dil Chahta Hai.
  • Further down, you'll pass the Arambol and the Arjuna Beaches; stop by the latter for some delicious Goan fare at the Curlies Beach Shack.
  • Your next stop is at Aguada Fort and lighthouse, a 17th-century Portuguese fortification that was built to defend from attacks by the Dutch and Maratha forces.
  • With that, it's touchdown in Goa.

Day 6:

  • Today is for you to explore the old parts of the Goa.
  • The first order of the day is to visit the brilliant churches of Goa.
  • Start out with the Baroque-style Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, followed by the Basilica of Bom Jesus, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Se Cathedral and the St. Cajetan Church that is modeled after the St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
  • The party animals among you could head to one or many of the popular beach-side clubs that Goa is known for.
  • The popular ones include Cohiba, the Silent Noise Club, Club Cubana, Tito's, and LPK Waterfront.
  • Don't miss the full-moon parties at Colva Beach if you're here anywhere around a full-moon night.

Day 7:

  • Enjoy your drive to Dudhsagar Falls, followed by a visit to the Shanta Durga Temple.
  • Step away from the beach for the day and drive down to the spectacular Dudhsagar Falls, nestled between the states of Goa and Karnataka.
  • The waterfall and popular picnic spot is also an excellent place for trekkers.
  • Experienced ones should try the 14 km-long trek that starts from the Castle Rock Station in Karnataka.
  • On your way back, pay a visit to the Shanta Durga Temple, dedicated to goddess Shantadurga, an avatar of Parvati.
  • The goddess is believed to have quelled a fierce battle between Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and unwind.

Day 8:

  • Drive to and explore South Goa.
  • One of the best ways to spend your day is to head to South Goa, find a shack serving delicious grub, especially seafood, grab a beer and enjoy the sea.
  • We suggest that you head to Gaffinos or Johncy's for their sumptuous fare.
  • Later in the evening, you could head out to the seaside for some good old beach football or beach volleyball.

Day 9:

Goa to Mumbai-

(Drive Distance:600 Kms Time:12 hours)

  • Enjoy your breakfast in the morning at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, drive from the hotel in Goa to the hotel in Mumbai via NH48.

  • Drive to the airport/railway station in Mumbai for your onward journey.
  • Once you reach the airport/railway station, hand over the vehicle and take home experiences of a lifetime!
