Day 1:

Arrive Bagdogra - Gangtok (125 km / approx.5 hour's drive)-

  • On arrival at the airport in Bagdogra, you will be met and transferred to the hotel in Gangtok.
  • Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim is located on a ridge at a height of 5500 feet and offers spectacular views of Mt. Khangchendzonga.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Gangtok.
     

Day 2:

 Gangtok - half day city tour of Gangtok -

  • Enjoy your breakfast in the morning at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, proceed on a half day city tour of Gangtok.
  • The places of the visit include Rumtek Monastery, Dro-dul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms and Flower Exhibition Centre.
  • The Rumtek Monastery offers scenic views of the area around.
  • Dro-dul Chorten is a stupa in Gangtok. Inside the stupa, you will find sets of Dorjee Phurba i.e. the Bajra Kilaya, set of Kangyur relics i.e. the Holy Books, Zung which are mantras and ten Mani-Lhakor which are the prayer wheels.
  • Namgyal Institute of Tibetology comprising of a museum and a library is intended to promote the rich and varied culture of Tibet which overlaps with that of Sikkim.
  • The Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom was started with an aim to preserve and propagate the traditional arts and crafts of Sikkim and train local artisans in related skills.
  • The Flower Exhibition Centre has an astounding collection of rare flowers. It conducts annual competitions and exhibitions of exotic plants and flowers.
  • Note: The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms remains closed on Sundays.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Gangtok.
  • Overnight in Gangtok

Day 3:

Gangtok - excursion to Tshangu Lake/ Similar-

  • This morning after breakfast, proceed on an excursion to Tshangu Lake. 
  • The cool water of the lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. 
  • You can enjoy a yak ride around the lake on direct payment basis.
  • Note: An alternate sightseeing will be provided if Tshangu Lake is closed.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
  • Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 4:

Gangtok to Kalimpong (80 km / approx. 3 hours drive) - sightseeing tour of Kalimpong- 

  • After a delicious breakfast in the morning, proceed to Kalimpong. 
  • At an altitude of 1250 m, Kalimpong is an ideal getaway. 
  • The clement weather has made Kalimpong orchids and gladiole well renowned.
  • On arrival, check-in to the hotel.
  • Later afternoon, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kalimpong which includes a visit to Zong Dong Palri Fo-Brang Monastery, Tharpa Choling Monastery, Thongsa Monastery and flower nurseries.
  • The Zong Dong Palri Fo-Brang Monastery was constructed by the Dalai Lama in Durpin Dara. Also known as the Durpin Monastery, it is situated at a height of 1,370 metres, atop the Durpin Hill.
  • Tharpa Choling Monastery, perched atop a hill, is one of the oldest and most revered monasteries in Kalimpong known for its religious ambience and precious artifacts.
  • Thongsa Monastery, popularly called Bhutanese Monastery, is the oldest monastery in Kalimpong and a perfect place for meditation.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
  • Overnight in Kalimpong.

Day 5:

Kalimpong to Darjeeling (70 km / approx. 3 hours drive)-

  • After breakfast, proceed towards Darjeeling. 
  • Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134 m, '
  • It offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others.
  • On arrival, check-in to the hotel.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this beautiful town.
  • Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 6:

Darjeeling - visit Tiger hill- city tour of Darjeeling-

  • Early morning, visit Tiger Hill to witness the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on Mt. Kangchenjunga (world's third highest mountain).
  • Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop before returning to the hotel.
  • After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Darjeeling that takes you to Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Tenzing and Gombu Rock and Happy Valley Tea Estate(from outside).
  • Note: Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute are closed on Thursdays. The Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre is closed on Sundays.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
  • Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 7:

Depart Darjeeling - Bagdogra-

  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in the morning.
  • Today, bid farewell to your Northeast tour, as you are transferred to the airport in Bagdogra for your onward journey back home.
