Next day i.e. On Day 2, we started our journey to see the green Mystic place Munnar! If anyone asks me to define Munnar in one word then it’s “The Green Paradise” for me. As far as your eyes can see is this green blanket of tea garden estates in its purest form. I won’t exaggerate if I say that each and every corner of Munnar is a feast to your eyes. It is so picturesque that you won’t be able to put your camera down, although I would highly recommend letting your eyes cherish the beauty as it is.
Sightseeing places in Munnar: Eravikulam National Park, Kundala Dam, Rose Garden, Echo point, Tata Tea Museum(if you are Tea lover, it’s a must visit place) all can be covered in one day by car.

If you really want to enjoy backwaters, then the best time would be in the morning or evening as during Sunset the orange sky makes the journey of backwaters alluring!
As it was monsoon I didn’t opt for houseboats, although it’s an amazing experience what I wanted is to see the village life and the way local are using this amazing canal system in the closest way possible! Which is not possible by houseboats, so I opted for Shikara to go into smaller canals. Click here to see 50+ awesome Kerala Trip itineraries.
